Maynard and Bloor (November 2003) argued for managerial control of medical practice but their premises are false and the conclusions therefore valueless.
The conclusions and recommendations offered by Professor Maynard and Dr Bloor in their weighty article (in the issue of November 2003) do not follow at all from the arguments adduced, being contrary to reason. Their three stages are very much of the nature of a syllogism, and the argument suffers from that frequent fault of syllogisms, the undistributed middle.
