WXR Fund has an accelerator program where partner with some fantastic companies we also rely on events, and our network, including other investors and entrepreneurs, to be connected to great companies.
What are the major trends you are seeing in your investment space?
We are seeing an increase in market traction particularly in the areas of training, enterprise and healthcare.
What are a few of the investments that you are the most proud of, regardless of the company’s success?
I’m proud of our support of all the WXR accelerator program companies. Against the odds, these women are creating companies using cutting edge technology that leverages the digital world to improve education and training (Conquer Experience, Embodied Labs, Vantage Point), to create immersive media and entertainment experiences (SVRF, Living Pop Ups, PopBase) to transform ecommerce (Hype AR, Obsess) and to revolutionize healthcare and wellness (Neuro Rehab, Healium/Story Up Studios). While creating content based on emerging technology and a new computing platform for all people, these teams are bringing a new, diverse perspective.
For example, Conquer Experience is used for training nurses on surgical procedures. Embodied Labs works to improve health care for the aging population. Vantage Point provides a new way to experience sexual harassment training. Hype AR enables location based advertising and Obsess creates new shopping experiences, digitally. Healium fights stress and anxiety using brain wave data to bring calm.
What do you wish founders knew about before meeting you and other investors? What about female founders specifically?
Being concise is critically important, as is knowing the questions you want to ask. Warm intros are always helpful. Don’t hesitate to reach out a second time if you don’t get a response.
