Kristina Tsipouras Miller is the Founder & CEO of Moroccan Magic Clean Beauty.
Tell us about your company. What inspired you to start it?
Moroccan Magic is a USDA Organic Argan + Essential Oil lip balm and clean beauty skincare brand. I was inspired to create a better everyday balm for the drugstore and grocery retail market. The more research I did about what ingredients were in my everyday lip balm, the more frustrated I became. We should have easy access to affordable safe organic lip balms, and frankly, we all deserve a better balm. High quality, sophisticated packaging and very high standard ingredients that feel more luxurious than your everyday drugstore balm.
Who are your cofounders and what makes you a great team?
I am the only Founder and now have a team of 5. Our office is 80% female!
How is your company making a difference?
We are Cruelty Free and partner up with the MSPCA of Mass and the ASPCA of America to fight for animal rights and support shelters across America. Adopt don’t shop!
What are some of the challenges you have faced?
Remaining self-funded and competing with the large Clorox + Johnson & Johnson owned brands who we sit next to on shelves.
What is your biggest win?
Securing full-chain Walgreens and Target.
Who is your role model?
I read Bethenny Frankels book, A place of Yes and it gave me the courage to launch.
What do you wish you had known before starting your company?
To crawl, walk, run. No regrets, but it has definitely been a challenge to learn how to support over 25,000 stores nationwide after only 3 years in business.
What is your CEO superpower?
I take complicated processes/problems and I simplify them and take action. I am always looking for resolutions and forward focused.
What has been your experience with FFA?
I have enjoyed reading the stories from other Founders. It is a weekly inspiration and a great place to learn from other like-minded Women!
Anything else you want people to know?
I also Founded the largest Women’s networking group in the Greater Boston area, Boston Business Women. I am a published Author of Busy Girl’s Guide to Happiness and a Huffington Post blogger 🙂
