Tell us about your company. What inspired you to start it?
At its core, FWWR is a storytelling media platform made up of our online and print publication, podcast, social channels, and events. This business was born from a passion to elevate women’s voices and stories in a society that has muffled them. I believe storytelling can heal the world and FWWR is a mic drop for that!
Who are your cofounders and what makes you a great team?
At this point, FWWR is a solo-run company. As we expand, I am so excited to grow the team in order to advance the movement.
How is your company making a difference?
In less than a year into the launch of FWWR, we cultivated a global community of over 140,000 roaring women from all over the world that are passionately engaged with our brand. More than ever women long for safe space to connect and share in an authentic way and we are offering a variety of ways for women to do just that through our membership, publication, podcast, and events.
What are some of the challenges you have faced?
Starting a business is a powerful and lonely task. I feel like I’m holding something so sacred and sometimes have no idea what I’m doing with it. I need a team. I need mentorship. I need to be around other women bravely stepping into their dream.
What is your biggest win?
Recently, FWWR has been contacted by big businesses about partnering. We have been sponsored by Glossier and have another event with them this month. It’s such an honor to have a big brand get our vision and want to align themselves with it.
Who is your role model?
Any brave storyteller. Specifically, Cheryl Strayed and Maya Angelou.
What do you wish you had known before starting your company?
To pace myself and build a team around me to help carry the load.
What is your CEO superpower?
Passion and vision. I also have a gift for curating sacred spaces so people can connect in an a real way no matter the environment.
