Funding Report: May 2022

Here’s this month’s funding report:

🖼️ Boss Beauties, an NFT collection focused on women’s empowerment, raised $4.4 million in a seed funding round led by Offline Ventures with participation from Serena Ventures, Female Founders Fund, and Wieden+Kennedy.

🪷 Morado, a Colombian startup aiming to digitize beauty salons in Latin America, has raised $5M in a pre-seed round led by Tiger Global Management and H20 Capital Innovation. 

🏠 Kindred, a home-swapping network has raised a $7.75M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Caffeinated Capital and angel investors. 

🫶 Frame Fertility, a platform for early identification of fertility risk and care navigation has raised $2.8M in seed funding in a round led by Looking Glass Capital with participation from Flare Capital Partners, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Healthworx and Brand Foundry Ventures.

💆‍♀️ Madison Reed, the prestige beauty brand that has revolutionized the hair color industry, today announced $33M in new financing led by Sandbridge Capital, with participation from Marcy Venture Partners. 

✨ January Ventures has closed $21 million in a new fund, the firm’s second investment vehicle to date and largest so far. The firm currently backs 50 startups to date — 90% of which have a female founder.

💰 Chingona Ventures, a three-year-old, Chicago-based venture outfit that invests in pre-seed startups, primarily in the Midwest and primarily founded by overlooked individuals has closed a new fund with $52M in capital commitments.
